Alison's Vision

As someone who grew up with hirsutism (excessive facial and body hair) I can fully understand how difficult this problem can be. In my case, the medical profession was neither helpful or particularly sympathetic. All I knew was that it affected me every day of my life.

When I first started to work as an electrologist, I frequently saw clients who shared the same story - That they felt hopeless and didn't know where to turn.

After opening A.S. Electrolysis, I knew that my main objective would be not only to deal with clients' unwanted hair... but also to get down to "causes and conditions" behind the hair growth. In other words to look at the client as a whole person and not just deal with the symptoms.

What this means is that I can use a variety of techniques to help clients. This might include using both laser and electrolysis treatments together within the treatment plan. Note: These treatments are never used simultaneously - Only as complementary parts of a broader treatment plan.

Working with both the Thermolysis and Blend technique, we determine the best method suited to the individual by assessing: 

  • The amount and area of hair to be treated 
  • Skin sensitivity and hair type 
  • Medical history and medications the client may be taking

A large number of my clients identify as trans. Here again, I see an even bigger need to create a positive and supportive environment - What I've discovered is that although some of the medical issues might be different, we all have the same fears and concerns when it comes to unwanted hair.

My goal is to provide a personalized treatment program to meet each client's specific needs. I am determined to see that each client is successful with their treatment goals.
